Did you know that Channel Nine's reality renovation program The Block 2025 - Season 21 has kicked off filming in Daylesford? Yes, Daylesford. How exciting that Australia can see the magic and wonder of our region!
Located at the corner of Raglan Street and the Midland Highway in Daylesford, the development site is significantly progressing, with metal frameworks for three of the five planned homes well underway.
Channel Nine confirmed Daylesford as the 2025 location in July 2024, following earlier plans to film the 2024 season at the same location. Those plans were delayed due to town and community planning feedback.
What sets this season apart is that each group of contestants will have to build their own house from scratch. Each property will feature a five-bedroom floor plan with a study, living area, garage, covered outdoor area, and heated swimming pool. The designs, developed by Group Architects, appear to incorporate a three-part layout with distinct living areas connected by a central space.
This eco-friendly approach aligns with the larger development vision for the area, known as 'Middleton Field,' which is set to eventually host 60 environmentally conscious Daylesford properties.
Local officials anticipate the production will generate significant economic benefits for the community. Many of the producers, contestants and the support crew to shop and eat local to ensure economic benefits flow back into our community."
If The Block follows its typical production schedule, contestants will likely arrive in March and air in July. According to social media reports, veteran builders Nine in Six are already working at the site.
The 2025 Daylesford season will mark The Block's 21st season, following the 2024 series filmed on Phillip Island. To find out more, visit the Daylesford Block Facebook page or pop into Daylesford Trading Co on 42 Vincent St in Daylesford to find out more!
