In 2008, he got a Pulitzer Prize Special Citation for his impact on music and culture. His 2009 album, "Together Through Life," was a chart-topper in the US and the UK.
Jon J Muth, known for comics and now celebrated for children's books, made the transition over two decades ago. His Caldecott Honor book, "Zen Shorts," was praised by Kirkus Reviews as "as perfect a picture book as can be." With translations in over a dozen languages, Muth, residing in New York, also earned an Eisner Award for "The Mystery Play."
